If you want to find out more about Dianetics and Scientology, the best way to do this is to read an L. Ron Hubbard book on the subject. I personally recommend you read Introduction to Scientology Ethics.
This book really helped me with understanding how to improve life-conditions for myself and others.
However the choice of books that really have meant a lot to my way of thinking and acting in daily life are several: Problems of Work, Scientology: The Fundamentals of Thought and Scientolgogy: A New Slant on Life are all gorgeous books with "data of life" which can be used without reservation. However, Introduction to Scientology Ethics is the book that has had - and HAS - the biggest practical importance to me.
In this book the concepts are clarified, so it can be understood. You get once and for all rid of the misunderstandings that the debate in the media shows is existing. ETHICS and MORALE are for instance often used as synonyms, which is an absolute misunderstanding. But the most exciting by this book probably is, that Mr. Hubbard actually has succeeded in developing a technology in the area of ethics.
As a human being, as a staff or as a manager - or no matter which role you are playing in life - you are here given a practical tool to be used. You get knowledge and insight to take the right decision in different situations. Even when you are most in doubt or when you have been brought into a confusion there is a procedure or formula telling you how to solve the situation. Hubbard describes in this book how you - no matter how you are doing in life - always will be in a situation or condition, which has its own precise rules for the handling. In a bad situation you will also be able to stop the unwanted trend by following the steps of the formula, which is applicable. In a favorable situation you will secure and strengthen the positive trend by following the steps of the formula.
The applied condition-formulas are strong medicine and are working whether you believe in them or not. As a self-employed businessman I can confirm this. Several years ago I had to close down a company, because I did not apply the formula that had to be used in that specific situation. I have realized that today.
When you fully understand Hubbard's ethics-technology you will be able to control your area of responsibility in a totally new and simple way. Drawing a graph based on the daily production makes it possible to you - just by a glance - to decide which condition you are in. This means for a top-executive: what condition his company is in. For a sales manager it tells what condition his department is in.
The "read" condition is of course valuable no matter how far away the branch office or daughter company.

The manager has created a situation where he with his legs on the table in one glance on the graph understands what the situation is in the Sidney-office - and at the same time knowing what to do without first having to dig into financial figures etc.
As you probably understand, it is not easy for me to hold back my enthusiasm for this book. But buy it yourself - read it and use it. To ensure full understanding and application of the ethics-technology - which we in the business world might call "Management by Conditions" - it is worth it to consider a course on the subject. The Church of Scientology offers courses - for instance an extension- course. Added to this I know of a couple of companies delivering courses in this subject.
