In Scientology, I have learned why people react the way they do via their various emotions and actions. I can predict behavior and know whom I am dealing with in business or personal matters. I understand the importance of goals and the effect that failed goals have on a person. I understand and appreciate the capacity of each individual trying be his very best despite the aberrations he knowingly manifests at times (not unlike how a hypnotized subject explains his actions being caused by the hypnotist's suggestions). I really understand and appreciate people and myself.
In Scientology, I can appreciate and play life as a grand game. I can recognize many of its traps, its freedoms, and really have fun at it. I think everyone should have that and deserves it. I learn something new every single day.
In the confusion of the world, being a stable point that anchors down my areas of responsibility is no longer draining. I now know I can do something about a problem or recognize what things I wish not to do something about and let them be. I choose my own path to the benefit of myself and everyone concerned.
Only a fool would not take good information to heart, I spent a lot of time and energy making myself a "wise fool." I'd suggest you look at the What is Scientology Booklets site yourself (has information on learning, conflicts, ethics, communication, etc.) All of the really basic stuff is right there. If you want further reading, a good book on communication (its compulsions, difficulties) is Dianetics 55! It's very easy to read. For information on evaluating human behavior and emotion check out Science of Survival (be very careful to ensure you use a dictionary!) Other favorite books are Scientology: The Fundamentals of Thought, Scientology: A New Slant on Life and Self Analysis. Be careful, when I first read these I didn't bother to look up words I didn't understand in the dictionary and ended up giving them all away. A few years later I went back to read them (with a dictionary) and found out what I had been missing! If you have a specific type of information or problem you're interested in learning about, I'd be happy to recommend something.
I always knew I had lots of horsepower as an individual. I could be a real rocket. I just never figured out how to put that horsepower into gear until I studied and applied Scientology. Life is just too short to learn "everything" first-hand (by personal experience). It's also more exciting when you know what you're doing rather than stabbing at it blindly!
