In 1958 my life was a mess. I was simply existing, not living. I was greatly in need of work. There was an ad in the paper that looked like it might be OK. I phoned in for an appointment for an interview and was told an information package would be mailed to me. I could not wait for that so I continued searching and found work. The information pack duly arrived inviting me to attend a five-night personal efficiency course, no charge. I was all alone and had nothing better to do so I went along; at least there would be people there.

     That was the best decision I ever made. The address I arrived at was a Scientology mission and it changed my life completely on the very first night. I found it was OK to laugh. Nobody looked askance at me. It was possible to be happy, in fact this was looked upon as an expected happening. For years I had been asking the question “What am I?”. That night I got an answer. You are a spiritual being. This answer felt so right it had to be true. I felt alive again - I knew I had a future.

     On this wonderful night there was still more to come. A piece of technology that was given that night was how to put order into confusion and the example used was a telephone switchboard. I was having trouble with the switchboard at work. It was so confusing. I expected to loose my job any day. Now this was a long time ago and the switchboard was very different from today’s. Using that one example and the data that went with it I quickly became efficient at operating this switchboard and the boss was pleased.

     After that I did a communication course. Guess what? I found I could communicate much better and felt comfortable communicating - something that had not happened for me before.

     As time passed I learned more of L. Ron Hubbard’s technology and how to apply it. Changes for the better kept occurring in my life. My interests increased and the quality of what I was interested in expanded. Using L. Ron Hubbard’s technology I was able to bring order and aliveness into my life and help others to do this. Often I could help and continued to help others with their problems. Over the years I have done many different and interesting jobs, most of which I have thoroughly enjoyed. Without L. Ron Hubbard’s technology this could not have happened.

     On my 68th birthday I took my first steps in what promises to be a most interesting and productive project, a totally different occupation from anything else I have done and something that until recently I would not have dreamed I could do.

     I use L. Ron Hubbard technology in every part of life and living. Without it I would not be where I am or what I am.
