ello, my name is Nancy Naugle, and here is a little bit about myself:
I found out about Scientology through my parents. My parents have an interesting story of how they found out about Scientology. The year was 1967. My father, Bob Sheckler wanted to run for public office. He asked a nice lady, Dotti Swanson (now Dotti Livengood) to help him with his campaign. She said if he read the book Dianetics. My father read the book, but decided if there was anything to this Dianetics he would have heard about it in his Psychology classes in college, and he tossed the book in the corner. My mother was curious about this book that this attractive lady had given her husband. So she picked it up and started reading it. She was very excited about L. Ron Hubbards approach to the human mind and asked my father if they could try running a Dianetics session.
In the session my mother contacted a very early time of pain and unconsciousness concerning her clubbed foot in which she had no feeling. After using Dianetics she said in disbelief. I can feel tingling down my right leg and I feel I am walking on air. My father needed proof. He had seen numerous Doctors try to get a reflex from that leg and never did. So he did a reflex test on her and saw for the first time an actual response. At that point my father got very excited about Dianetics and went back to Dotti, who then signed them up for services at the local Mission.
My parents ran a small Scientology mission in our livingroom through my childhood. I saw more and more, as I was growing up, that the more I used the technology I learned the more my life went the way I wanted it to.
When I was 20 I decided I really wanted to know all about this Technology and I started an advanced course that takes a person right through all of the research material that LRH composed while developing this science.
I tell you this course was the best thing I have ever done in my life. I decided at the end of the course that I wanted to be a professional auditor (Scientology counseler).
I started working at the center called Mace Kingsley. There I learned how to audit children professionally and I audited over 50 children over the next three years.
In that time I saw children change before my very eyes. Children that were shy were now outgoing and happy. Ones that fought a lot could now establish communication and find things to agree about and work out their differences with others. Ones that were ill handled their emotional turmoil concerning the illness and recover faster. All of them seemed more stable and had more ability to get what they wanted out of life.
After three years I decided to go out on my own. Now I run a small group called the Childrens Improvement Center where I have helped over 80 children be more able to reach their goals. I truly am happy in my
work.
