If you want to find out more about Dianetics and Scientology, the best way to do this is to read an L. Ron Hubbard book on the subject. I personally recommend you read Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health.
This book really helped me with a problem I was having at the time with, of all things, my gums. I first read Dianetics in 1971. During that time, I had a small cyst that had appeared on my gums right between my two front teeth. I went to my dentist who surgically removed it, which was an unusually painful process. About two months later the cyst came back so I returned and I again had it removed by my dentist. By the time it came back for a third time, it had become quite a worry for me. It was not only noticeable when I smiled, but the thought of returning to the dentist for another painful operation was definitely getting on my nerves.
I had it removed one more time and shortly after that I purchased the Dianetics book. As I began reading the book, I realized that the problem I was having with my gums was stemming from my mind. The cyst was definitely real, but the source of it was mental.
The cyst ceased to worry me, and it has never come back. But that turned out to be the most insignificant thing that Dianetics did for me. It actually completely changed how I viewed physical and mental problems. It answered for me every question I ever had about behavior and psychosomatic illness. Dianetics answered questions I had never even thought to ask.
I highly recommend reading Dianetics.
